August 25, 2022

Keeping in line with what has already been an exciting and extraordinary year for Flexjet, Monterey Car Week proved to be an ideal backdrop for celebrating automotive excellence and the influence these iconic vehicle brands have had on our world and culture at large.

Flexjet Owners received complimentary invitations to the garden party at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering held at The Quail Lodge & Golf Club on August 19th and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance at the famed Pebble Beach Golf Links August 21st during Monterey Car Week.

The feeling of each event is like that of Art Basel or most high-end car shows, with aficionados and individuals plotting their next move to add to their collection of concept, muscle or vintage automobiles that will feed their passion. This year’s events featured a strong return to past event glory, with some of the biggest names in luxury automotive on display and even more exclusive Flexjet activations for good measure.

The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering – Friday, August 19, 2022

Set on the serene grounds of the Quail Lodge & Golf Club, this weekend kickoff event is filled with appreciating incredible feats of transit engineering, the elegance of performance, and unforgettable automotive style. With vehicle debuts from Lotus Cars, Pagani Automobili, Drako Motors, Acura, Aston Martin Bugatti, and a special exhibit from Bentley Motors, attendees witness historic, timeless elegance contrasted against the inspiring next generation of automotive icons in a relaxed, comfortable country club atmosphere.

Ongoing tributes to these behemoth automotive legacies were not in short supply; however, this year’s festivities included an exciting Flexjet collaboration and crossover that took center stage.

The Quail provided the appropriate setting to unveil the Bentley Mulliner Bacalar-inspired Sikorsky S-76 private helicopter on display for a rare hands-on activation. A stunning exposition in firm support of the new Flexjet private helicopter division that promises seamless regional travel in select global cities. As the first private jet provider to offer personal helicopter programs, this is a concept that will undoubtedly redefine private travel expectations for all Flexjet Owners.

With the Flexjet garden party lounge thoughtfully arranged around the Bacalar-inspired Sikorsky S-76, Owners and visitors were able to enjoy Bernardus fine wines, Laurent-Pierre champagne, light snacks and other refreshments while touring the cabin of the private helicopter activation. In anticipation of the abundant sunshine, guests were outfitted with hats and parasols to make the afternoon more comfortable with no detail unnoticed.

Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance – Sunday, August 21, 2022

At the 71st Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, car enthusiasts celebrated the history and detail of automotive lineage as a competition of collector cars unfolds on the 18th fairway of the Pebble Beach Golf Links.

From the Flexjet hospitality observation deck, Owners and guests enjoyed full breakfast and lunch service and were sipping coffee, tea, or specialty mimosas whilst observing each judged and selected vehicle on the grounds as they paraded by on their way to assessment. Sitting just steps away from the judge’s table on the 18th green, fractional jet Owners were offered an unsurpassed view of the judging of the world’s most valuable vintage automobiles.

This premium vantage point provides a insight into the painstaking detail and critiquing each vehicle must endure to become the Best of Show. This year, that prestigious distinction belonged to a 1932 Duesenberg J Figoni Sports Torpedo – taking home Best of Show at the 2022 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance; a celebration including a colorful confetti ceremony.

The 2022 Concours d’Elegance saw a staggering variety of 220 cars from 19 countries that were on display at Pebble Beach. The official auction house of the event, Gooding & Company, saw over $105 million in sales with world records that included the 1990 Ferrari F40 which sold for $3,965,000 and the 1994 Bugatti EB110 Super Sport which sold for $3,167,500. The top sale of the weekend went for $10,345,000 to a 1937 Buggatti Type 57SC Atalante.

For both featured events, the general public must enter a lottery for a chance to purchase tickets. The Quail and the Concours d’Elegance are traditionally so popular among Flexjet aircraft Owners that when Flexjet extends complimentary invitations for the event, they are typically fully reserved within days.
