Flexjet Showcases Launch of Super-Mid Helicopter Service in South Florida at the 2022 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show
November 8, 2022
Flexjet made a sizable splash at the world’s premier in-water boat show. Owners and onlookers alike gather every year at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, held this year from October 26-30. The expo afforded an ideal atmosphere where one of Flexjet’s Sikorsky S-76 helicopters was on full floating display. The activation provided an advance local preview of Flexjet’s private helicopter division, which will operate in South Florida beginning in late fall.
This recent service expansion has positioned Flexjet as the only fractional private jet travel provider to offer fully integrated helicopter ownership and service as part of its program roster. With an exemplary service record and reputation, the Sikorsky S-76 has been the epitome of executive travel for 40 years and will be a cornerstone of this innovative travel model for years to come.
The new helicopter service provides last-mile transport for Owners of Flexjet aircraft traveling from airports to their final destinations, enabling them to avoid lengthy local traffic delays. It also can provide easy, comfortable access to additional locations within the region, such as entertainment and sports venues, golf courses, luxury spas, and other destinations. In particular, the helicopter service will enable yacht owners to travel quickly from their jets to where their vessels are moored, which often are in less-accessible areas.
Those who attended the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show were first-hand to see luxurious superyachts and other watercraft from the world’s leading boat manufacturers. Guests of Flexjet and its brand partner, Worth Avenue Yachts, were able to take full advantage of this rare exposition and view the flagship Flexjet Sikorsky S-76 up-close to inspect custom Bentley Bacalar interior and signature livery. Guests used the occasion to relax on board the adjacent Worth Avenue Yachts® floating VIP lounge and enjoyed handcrafted cocktails and vintner-curated happy hours.
The Sikorsky S-76 has an unparalleled four-decade record of reliability, luxury, and superior performance. With the ability to carry up to six passengers plus two S76-certified, IFR-qualified pilots, the Sikorsky S-76 has a maximum range of 300 nautical miles or about 2 hours and 30 minutes. With a twin-turbine engine drive, four-blade rotor system, and sound design, it provides a smooth, calm ride combined with a spacious, noise and vibration-canceling cabin interior custom-designed as part of Flexjet’s LXi Cabin Collection™. The S-76 also has 38 cubic feet of baggage capacity, making it ideal for transport to a jet Owner’s final destination.
